Frostbite
Second book of the Vampire Academy series, Frostbite is a great book that made me cry! So hopefully you have read the previous books so that I don't spoil anything!
This book starts with Rose, and love interest Dimitri, travelling to a famous Guardian to grade Rose. Unfortunately, when they arrive they find the house has been raided by Strigoi. Everyone is dead and an investigation is made.
Later when Dimitri and Rose are training, they have a moment of anger and Rose kisses him. It's cute but they don't see much of each other after that thanks to Dimitri.
Out of fear, the school takes a trip to a ski lodge for a few weeks where Rose meets royal Moroi, Adrian Ivashkov. And then of course, another attack occurs.
Rose begins to get involved with Mason Ashford, who has always had a crush on her. She is hoping to forget her feelings about Dimitri as he starts dating Christians Aunt.
While everyone is enjoying themselves at the lodge, Guardians begin to look further into the incidents. Strigoi usually only stay in packs of 1 or 2 that's what makes this situation weird. So they start getting clues and hints about where they may be. Dimitri is one of the ones that know this information. Of course, he tells Rose. Rose tells Mason. I think it would be a big mistake to your Strigoi-killing-obsessed boyfriend where a group of Strigoi are.
So Rose and Mason start getting closer and physical but before anything happens, Rose discovers she doesn't love him and never will. Probably a bad time but better than rather later. And Mason storms out, furious. Rose later finds that him, Moroi Mia (we met her in the last book as an annoying little bitch who now, since her mum died, is nicer and friends with them) and Eddie. She is furious and runs off with Christian, Lissa's Moroi boyfriend, and travells to the same place. Fortunately, they haven't found any Strigoi....yet.
They meet with the others and when they are going to leave, a van filled with humans (yes humans) capture them and take them to a building. They are tied up and left without food or water. So there they are. Rose, Christian, Mia, Mason and Eddie. Briefly, Rose finds, through Lissa's eyes, that Adrian also uses the element, Spirit as does Lissa. He tries to contact her through a Spirit induced dream though they run out of time.
So the humans are actually 'hired' by Strigoi. Two, one superior than the other. The Strigoi use Eddie as a feeder. They state that either Christian or Mia will survive. As they are Moroi, they can drain someone of blood and turn into a Strigoi. They refuse of course until...
"I'll do it" Christian is released and walks over to Rose, at first she thought it may have been planning something but then she wasn't sure. He leant over her neck and his fangs touched, not pierce his skin, seeming like he was drinking her blood when really he was actually burning her cuffs. The humans guarding them were stupid enough to believe they were doing it.
Rose finally broke out and after defeating their guards, helped the others out. They set off to find an exit but unfortunately, ran into the two Strigoi. The others were able to escape but Rose bravely faced her first Strigoi fight. Before anything could happen though, Mason stupidly stepped back inside, out of the protection of sunlight and pointed a gun at the superior vampire. Shooting didn't work of course and the part that made me cry: the Strigoi snapped his neck and let the other eat him. So short, but so sad!!!
So Rose was furious by that point and shouted for them not to touch the body. And along with Mia's water ability, Rose decapitated the vampires. Her first Strigoi kills. Guardians ended up arriving afterwards and pulled her away. Great timing -_- bit too late. Later, back at the Academy, Dimitri kisses her. It is a cute moment!
Not my favourite of the series, though a memorable one. It is a wonderful book, as well as eventful. Adrian is also an important character you need to watch out for!

Vampire Academy Movie Update
According to variety.com, imdb.com as well as other sites, there is going to be a Vampire Academy movie!
I hope everyone is as excited as me :D
So basicly, there is no title, no certain producer or director BUT with the information from IMDB, the soon-to-be blockbuster is scheduled for 2013!
Fingers crossed for the upcoming movie!

Vampire Academy: First Book (SPOILER ALERT)
Heyy there!
So first of all, don't read this if you haven't read the book yet!
So it starts with Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir and after their two year high school runaway, they are finally caught by the school's guardians and taken back. They are put back in school and part of Rose's 'punishment' is to train with guardian Dimitri Belikov to get her grades back up.
How it works in this world: Moroi are good vampires. Strigoi are evil vampires. Dhampir's are half vampires, made by a Moroi and a dhampir. Strigoi are either moroi who willingly turned OR moroi or dhampir's turned unwillingly. These live in the human world but humans don't know about them. They are regularly used to 'feed' moroi but will not be killed by one.
Lissa develops a relationship to a supposed strigoi wannabe. Then things begin to get weird. Lissa, whilst trying to climb the social ladder to the top, is being anomalously threatened. Through the book, various animals are ripped apart.
I should probably have mentioned, you find out that Lissa has special abilities. Some moroi have control over one of the four elements; fire, earth, water or air. Lissa however believes she does not specialise in any when in actual fact she has one of the most mentally strong; Spirit. And, unsure of why it is, Rose is able to see through Lissa's eyes uncontrollably. This bond tells Rose where she is, what she is doing and can sense her feelings.
As for Rose, the main character, whilst in training she begins to fall for her instructor. She begins to see him romantically and thinks that he might have feelings for her to but, of course, doesn't believe anything could happen between them.
In the end, it comes to a school dance and when Lissa is offended by her classmate, she runs of crying. Christian follows and is soon knocked unconsciously by unidentified guardians. Rose sees this through Lissa's eyes and runs for help.
She runs to Dimitri of course and attempts to tell him. As soon as he opens the door, she forgets everything (literally, like completely forgets). As soons as she touches him, they both recieve a spell and cannot get enough of each other. Right before they have sex though, the spell is broken and she remembers.
The guardians take off to save Lissa, captured by guardians. They torture her and the man behind it all: her uncle. He is very ill and must use her powers to survive.
So in the end, her uncle is put in jail, Lissa and Christian are okay, but Rose and Dimitri must stay apart though they both desperatly love each other.
It is the best book I have ever read and I strongly suggest it!

Dimitri Belikov: The Perfect Actor
There is not anyone in the world who could play the role of Dimitri 100% perfectly! It is just impossible.
But a possible actor should have these qualities;
But a possible actor should have these qualities;
- Great body, but not too much muscle (not a body builder or anything close)
- Not a 'soft' face but a strong, tough one
- He has to be able to put on a believable Russian accent
- Even better if he is Russian!
- Has to have the perfect amount of hair and facial hair
Possible actors could be Ben Barnes or Taylor Kitsch in my opinion.
And I have a clear image of him, though I am sure everyone else would have a unique picture of him as well. But hopefully, if they end up making the movie, they will choose the best actor possible!
Comment below and show your dream cast for Dimitri Belikov!
Thank you!

Vampire Academy 101
So for you Newbies who know nothing about Vampire Academy, here is the general story of the series. I won't give too much away so I won't spoil it.
The book series tells of Rose Hathaway, a guardian sworn to protect her best friend, Princess Lisa Dragomir whom she shares a bond with. Her story is entwined with a romance with her instructor, Dimitri Belikov who is nearly always the centre of attention.
I can't say too much more without giving anything away but hopefully everyone has read it already.
It is a great series and I strongly recommend it.
Oh and one more thing,
DO NOT read the back cover the future books. It spoils the plot.
Thank you :P
